Welcome to the O’Flaherty group!

Introduction

Our group works on research at the interface of chemistry and biology, with a focus on nucleic acid chemistry. Projects in the laboratory cover two broad areas of research; nucleic acid biotechnology and origins of life. Group members are exposed to an interdisciplinary portfolio of techniques in organic chemistry, chemical biology, biochemistry and biophysics.

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Guelph provides an inspiring learning and research environment. We aim to empower students, staff, and faculty to bring their uniqueness to our organization, helping them grow personally and professionally. We strongly believe, as a scientific community, we thrive in a collegial, collaborative, equitable, diverse, and inclusive environment, and we are committed to create such an environment for everyone in the Department.
